The end of the year is always time for reflection. For misPeces, 2025 has been shaped by a Mediterranean aquaculture sector that is complex, dynamic and in constant transformation. It has also been a year of consolidation for our English edition, during which we have clearly seen that rigorous, contextualised and independent information is highly valued by stakeholders across the sector.

Throughout 2025, we have strengthened our role as a specialised and independent media outlet, focused on explaining aquaculture through knowledge rather than noise. We have given a voice to researchers, producers, technicians and institutions, promoting a form of communication that connects science with production practices and the sector with society.

For misPeces, informing means providing of 2025 was the celebration of Aquaculture Europe 2025 in Valencia (Spain) this September. This historic edition stood out for its high level of participation and diversity of profiles, becoming the largest edition to date. For misPeces, taking part as a special media partner represented both a recognition of our editorial work and an opportunity to bring the knowledge generated at the conference to a broader audience, further reinforcing our commitment to the sector.

Over the course of the year, we have also highlighted major advances in productive efficiency, environmental sustainability, technological innovation and the circular economy, while maintaining the critical perspective that our audience rightly expects.

We now begin to look towards 2026 with a realistic yet clearly optimistic outlook. Mediterranean aquaculture faces the future with greater knowledge, improved tools and a stronger awareness of its role in feeding the region.

For misPeces, 2026 represents a new opportunity to reinforce our commitment to informing in order to explain the complexity of the sector, to educating in order to foster critical thinking, and to communicating the value of aquaculture also through engaging and accessible formats.

Thank you for accompanying us for another year on this journey.
