Mark Jollymore | INNOVASEA

Innovasea, a global leader in technologically advanced aquatic solutions for aquaculture and fish tracking, announced today that acting CEO Mark Jollymore has been named permanent CEO. Jollymore was appointed interim CEO in May and will assume this new title immediately.

As CEO, Jollymore will guide Innovasea through its next period of growth, delivering on its mission to enable new solutions for regenerative aquaculture and wild fish research and management.

I am thrilled to welcome Mark to this permanent seat. His leadership has already helped lead Innovasea through an important chapter. Now we look forward to scaling impact and unlocking the next phase of growth,” said Don Grant, Managing Partner of Cuna del Mar and Chairman of Innovasea’s Board of Directors.

I am honored to lead Innovasea at a time when new technologies and solutions are required to support regenerative aquaculture and wild fish stock resource management,” added Jollymore. “Innovasea is uniquely positioned to provide breakthrough capabilities that help ensure aquaculture can be a contributor to ocean health, biodiversity, and food security globally. My focus will be to build on our world-class innovation capabilities and customer-first approach to support the critical advancements of our aquaculture and fish-research customers.”

Jollymore joined Innovasea in 2017 as President, following Innovasea's acquisition of Amirix Systems. Prior to this, he served as President and CEO of Amirix, where he led the company's Vemco brand to become the unmatched global leader in acoustic fish tracking.

Since joining Innovasea, Jollymore has led the ongoing development and advancement of Innovasea's fish tracking solutions, including the launch of NexTrak, the world’s most advanced acoustic telemetry solution on the market. The underlying technology also serves as the foundation for Innovasea’s wireless aquaMeasure environmental sensors, a cornerstone of Innovasea’s precision aquaculture platform.

Jollymore holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of New Brunswick, an MBA from Saint Mary’s University, and is an ICD.D member of the Institute of Corporate Directors. Jollymore sits on several for-profit and not-for-profit boards in the ocean technology and workforce development spaces. In 2024, Jollymore was named Chair of the board of directors at COVE: a Canadian innovation center and global tech hub focused on advancing marine technology.
