The Group Nueva Pescanova has returned to profit in 2025 after several consecutive years of losses, according to figures released by the company. Net profit reached €1.1 million, compared to losses of €37.9 million in the previous financial period (which covered nine months), and €91 million on a comparable twelve-month basis.

This return in positive results comes alongside a broader improvement in the group’s key financial indicators. Revenues totalled €1,054.6 million, representing 7.3% increase year-on-year on a like-for-like basis. Meanwhile, EBITDA rose by 56.5% to €7.2 million, pointing to a significantly stronger expansion in margins than in top-line growth.

According to the company, this performance reflects both increased activity and the impact of efficiency measures implemented over the past two years. These include a renewed commercial strategy focused on higher-value operations, alongside process optimisation and organisational transformation.

Within this framework, aquaculture has emerged as a key operational lever. The group reports improvements in productivity that have directly supported profitability, in line with a broader shift towards efficiency-driven rather than volume-driven growth. This approach mirrors a wider industry trend, as cost pressures push producers towards more integrated and optimised production models.

With these results, Grupo Pescanova considers its recovery phase complete and signals the beginning of a new cycle focused on development and investment. According to the company, this next stage will be underpinned by the ongoing optimisation of its financial structure.

At the same time, the group has strengthened its brand positioning. According to Kantar data, it ranks among the top ten most chosen brand in Spain, maintaining its presence in consumer’s regular purchasing baskets despite a highly price-sensitive environment.

In terms of sustainability, the company highlights its alignment with the UN 2030 Agenda and its ranking in the Ocean Benchmark by the World Benchmarking Alliance, where it is recognised as the leading global seafood company in this index. It has also continued to develop new products and participate in R&D projects focused on sustainability and production efficiency.

With operations in 16 countries, around 9,000 employees and sales in more than 80 markets, Nueva Pescanova’s 2025 performance marks a turning point for the group. Beyond the headlines figures, the results point to a structural repositioning built on operational efficiency, aquaculture and value creation as core drivers of competitiveness.
