Aquafeed producer BioMar increased both revenue and earnings in the second quarter of 2025, despite a decline in feed volumes in several key regions.
According to parent company Schouw & Co.’s interim report, BioMar achieved revenue of DKK 5,028 million (€674 million) in Q2 2025, compared to DKK 4,967 million (€666 million) in the same quarter last year. The increase was mainly driven by a positive product mix and price developments, which offset lower sales volumes.
Operating earnings also improved. EBIT before special items reached DKK 285 million (€38 million), up from DKK 263 million (€35 million) in Q2 2024.
For the first half of the year, BioMar reported revenue of DKK 9,280 million (€1,244 million), compared to DKK 9,181 million (€1,231 million) in H1 2024. Earnings also rose, with EBIT before special items at DKK 431 million (€58 million), up from DKK 393 million (€53 million) a year earlier.
The report highlights differences in market performance. Norway experienced softer volumes, while growth in other geographies and in species beyond salmon contributed positively. Efficiency improvements also helped strengthen results. However, Schouw cautioned that “market conditions are expected to remain challenging in the second half of the year, particularly in Norway and Chile.”
Looking ahead, Schouw & Co. confirmed its full-year guidance for BioMar, forecasting EBIT in the range of DKK 970–1,050 million (€130–141 million).
