The European Commission will hold two workshops in Brussels for freshwater aquaculture producers on 12 November and marine aquaculture producers on 13 November 2026, to understand the difficulties they face when applying Common Fisheries Policy rules and identify opportunities for simplification.
The consultations will gather practical experiences of administrative burdens, costs, unclear rules and differences in implementation between countries, alongside ideas for improving authorisations, reporting requirements and certifications.
Both workshops will take place in person and in English, with around 20 participants per session, including five places reserved for Advisory Council representatives.
The initiative prioritises direct participation by individual businesses and practitioners.
