
Mowi ASA, the world’s largest salmon producer, has achieved record harvest volumes of 133.5 thousand tonnes in the fourth quarter of 2024 (Q4 2024). This figure slightly exceeded the company’s guidance of 132.1 thousand tonnes, which was announced during the Q3 2024 results presentation.
For the full year, Mowi’s harvest volumes reached an all-time high of 502 thousand tonnes, representing a 5.7% increase compared to the 475 thousand tonnes harvested in 2023.
During Q4 2024, Norway remained the largest contributor, accounting for 62% of total harvest volumes with 83.5 thousand tonnes. Other regional contributions were as follows: Scotland, 17.0 thousand tonnes; Chile, 22.5 thousand tonnes; Canada, 5.0 thousand tonnes; Ireland, 1.0 thousand tonnes; the Faroe Islands, 1.0 thousand tonnes; and Iceland (Arctic Fish), 3.5 thousand tonnes.
In terms of financial performance, the company reported that Operational EBIT for the Group in Q4 2024 totalled approximately EUR 226 million (NOK 2,657 million), compared to EUR 203 million in the same quarter of 2023. The blended farming cost for the quarter was EUR 5.69 per kilogram, slightly lower than in Q3 and in line with guidance.
Operational EBIT per kilogram across regions was as follows: Norway, EUR 2.20/kg; Scotland, EUR 1.40/kg; Chile, EUR 0.85/kg; Canada, EUR 0.45/kg; Ireland, EUR -2.15/kg; the Faroe Islands, EUR 1.05/kg; and Iceland, EUR 0.75/kg.
In other business segments, the Consumer Products division achieved an operational EBIT of EUR 53 million, while the Feed division recorded an operational EBITDA of EUR 21 million.
